John McDonnell
Managing Director International
Tito’s Handmade Vodka

In January 2005, John joined Patrón as President and Chief Operating Officer. He led the company’s international and duty-free expansion into over 130 countries and islands worldwide, helping Patrón become the world’s #1 tequila brand in retail value. Patrón also became the ninth most popular brand in the world -- joining the same league as Google, Apple and Facebook in terms of public recognition.

During John’s tenure, Patrón’s revenue multiplied tremendously, growing from $75 million to $600 million. While there, John was actively involved with the company’s leadership in environmental responsibility. Patrón was recognized for its strong performance in recycling, reducing waste, cleaning the air, and limiting noise.

John also played a leadership role in Patrón’s ongoing contributions to charities as diverse as The Smile Train, Action Against Hunger and other worthy causes. Now as Managing Director, International for Tito’s Handmade Vodka, John has been leading the spectacular global expansion of the brand – growing in just eight years from only a few international locations to 145 countries today, with more to come.

Among its charitable involvements, the company actively supports Emancipet, which reduces the population of homeless dogs around the nation and helps owners who lack the funds to give safe, affordable care to their pets. In addition to his many corporate duties, John is steadily drawn to ways to improve the world around him, with a special place in his heart for civic and educational causes related to his beloved hometown and its environs. John is also on the Board of Trustees at Fisher College in Boston.
